The program 2013 of the issues of the Italian Post Administration lists a set of stamps featuring the "Birds of the Alps", joint in a MS. The issue should comprise 5 stamps. The species involved are: Capercaillie (
Tetrao urogallus), Grey Woodpecker (
Picus canus), Ptarmigan (
Lagopus muta), Boreal -Tengmalm- Owl (
Aegolius funereus) and Lammergeier (
Gypaetus barbatus). To be issued on 4th December 2013, it will be the last one of the year for Italy. Since real images of these stamps are still lacking, the 5 species are featured above by pictures taken from postcards.
